Gym Cracks By Jim September 12, 2002 WORLD HERALD CALLING Omaha World Herald takes notice of MissingNebraska.com By Jim (Babe) Berryman MissingNebraska.com Western Nebraska I did not recognize the voice on the telephone. The voice asked for Babe. I thought another telemarketer, although telemarketers usually do not know my nickname. The voice continued, "I've read several of your columns from www.missingnebraska.com and would like to share these columns with my readers." The name behind the voice--Harold Andersen. Andersen retired as publisher of the Omaha World-Herald several years ago, but still writes a twice-weekly column for the World-Herald. His articles range the spectrum--from intellectual treatises to happenings with blue-collar workers in rural Nebraska. Andersen started to give me praise for the website, but I quickly informed him, it was the other Jim Berryman who was responsible for the www.missingnebraska.com design. Young Jim was interviewed from his New Haven, CT. home by Andersen for the article. He was particularly interested in the story on the 74-year old World-Herald paper distributor and the tiny (eight student) Bodarc school located in rural Sioux County. Full Story Andersen is impressed with the site. When I last talked with him on Monday, he knew of the number of "hits" and other information about the site. He said he wants to run the article on a Sunday, because the readership of the World-Herald is much greater on a Sunday than a weekday. He thought possibly the article would appear this Sunday or on September 22.
