NEBRASKA VS. MICHIGAN
Two of college football's most successful programs face off in '05 Alamo Bowl

It sure looks great on paper. It sounds great when you say it. It looks great on the marquee: Nebraska vs. Michigan in a bowl game.

While there are no BCS implications for this year's Alamo Bowl, the fine folks in San Antonio have a couple of biggies playing each other Wednesday night at the Alamo Dome.

Well at least they were biggies in plenty of seasons past.

And while there are a few more losses in the loss column of both teams than you would usually expect to find, fans of both teams across the country will find plenty to get excited about when the storied "N" helmets line up against the storied "M" helmets down by the River Walk.

Nebraska comes into the game at 7-4, Michigan is also 7-4, but early in the season was ranked as high as third nationally. Currently, the Wolverines are ranked number 20.

The Huskers didn't crack either of the major two polls during the season, but did sit at 25th in the BCS poll for one week.

Kickoff is scheduled for just after 7 p.m. central on Wednesday night from San Antonio. You can watch it live on ESPN.

Live audio of the game can be heard on Pinnacle Sports radio affiliates and online at huskers.com. Live stats can be found at huskers.com and a variety of sources from Yahoo! Sports to CBSSportsline.
