PUZZLING POLLS.
Huskers now #2 in Coaches and Media Polls, hang on to top BCS spot.
College football polls are like Nebraska weather. Wait a minute and they’ll change. Well, the latest round of poll craziness happened this weekend. Nebraska, who was sitting home in Lincoln, dropped out of the top spot in the USA Today/CNN Poll and landed at #2. They stayed at #2 in the AP poll. The flip-flop was with Miami, who crushed Syracuse last Saturday 59-0. The Hurricanes are the nation’s top college team according to Coaches and Media polls, yet remain #2 in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) Poll. Although Miami did gain some ground on the Huskers in the BCS Poll. Voters quickly forgot the scare Miami had a week earlier against Boston College, escaping with an 18-7 win.
Still Nebraska is in the driver’s seat to play in Pasadena in the Rose Bowl. Win the rest of their games, and they’re in. Same deal for Miami. So, it’s getting closer now. Can you smell the roses Husker fans?
