NORTH TITLE TAYLOR MADE
Nebraska wins Big 12 North with thrilling 28-27 come-from-behind win
over A&M

Nebraska tried its darnedest to give away another road game against
a Big 12 South opponent Saturday, but this time it was Nebraska that
had a little magic up its sleeve.
On a day when the Huskers once again jumped to an early lead, only
to see it disappear into a cloud of Aggie smoke, the Huskers came
back with a thrilling 4th-quarter drive, capped by a Zac Taylor
touchdown pass to Maurice Purify with just seconds left in the game.
It would be the only points scored by the Huskers in the second
half.
After the extra point, it was Nebraska that was celebrating, as the
raucous Texas A&M fans at Kyle Field were left in stunned silence
for the third heartbreaking home loss of the season.
Final score: Huskers 28 Aggies 27.
With the win, Nebraska clinches the Big 12 North title and will play
against the South champ in Kansas City in early December.
Nebraska ups its record to 8-3 (5-2) and will surely be ranked in
all polls this week. Texas A&M drops to 8-3 (4-3), and will more
than likely disappear from the rankings this week.
The likely Husker opponent was Texas, until the Longhorns lost to
Kansas State Saturday. Ironic that after hearing media pundits
trumpet the Longhorns all week, and how they could wrap up the South
title, with nary a mention of Nebraska's similar shot at wrapping up
the North, that it is Nebraska that got the job done first. How
sweet it is.
Now Texas must win one more before earning the right to face NU in
KC. It could also be Oklahoma representing the South,
depending on what happens to both teams in remaining games this
season.
New Haven NU-A&M Watch Party Rocked!
I was part of a huge overflow crowd at TK's American Cafe in New
Haven.
As a matter of fact, there were so many Husker fans there, the main
area of the restaurant/bar was filled to the brim, so I actually had
to sit near the bar with a bunch of "other" fans.
Not one Texas A&M fan was in attendance, but there were Michigan,
Ohio State, Maryland, Cal, and Arizona fans around every corner near
the bar. Still, the number of "other" fans didn't even come close to
all the fans in Husker red.
And, it was the Nebraska fans that made the most noise. I've seen it
like this a few times at TK's, but will never forget looking into
the main section of TK's after Zac Taylor's 4th-quarter touchdown
pass to Maurice Purify, and seeing about 60 or so Husker fans
literally jumping up and down, running through the aisles high-fiving
other Husker fans, celebrating the thrilling win.
A heads up from the Connecticut Yankees for Nebraska, who have a
great day planned for the NU-Colorado watch party on the day after
Thanksgiving, including a raffle and other activities, so leave the
turkey leftovers at home and head to TK's for a fun time!
