ROCK SCHLOCK JAYHAWK.
No contest! Huskers crush Kansas 51-7. Next up K-State.

The Kansas Jayhawks are counting the days until basketball season. In a game where Husker fans were often heard saying “is this a Kansas high school team?”, the Nebraska Cornhuskers (10-0, 6-0)steam-rolled over the lowly Kansas Jayhawks (2-6, 1-5) Saturday night. Final score: 51-7. The only thought left on the minds of the Lawrence, KS crowd is…NEXT!!

Next will be the Kansas State Wildcats, a 41-3 winner over Iowa State. But more on that in a minute, and all this week on MissingNebraska.com.

In Lawrence Saturday night, at times the Huskers seemed to be going through the motions. After all they had just defeated the mighty Sooners of Oklahoma, and Kansas was sure to be a letdown. Kansas was. The Huskers failed to score in the first quarter, missing field goals, but woke up early in the second quarter to skip and jump past one of the worst teams in the Big 12. Kansas coach Terry Allen is rumored to be out of a job real soon, and the performance by his team is sure to add to his misery.

Nebraska’s Dahrran Diedrick rushed for 136 yards and scored two touchdowns. Eric Crouch didn’t have a banner game, rushing for only 54 yards. He completed 14 of 25 passes for 163 yards. Still, a solid performance. The term “only” is compared to the 100-plus yards he’s rushed for in previous games. Once again, Crouch finds himself getting ready to compete in the biggest games of his career. Kansas State, Colorado, Big 12 Championship. Seems he often has to do that. We here at MissingNebrakska.com say he’s up to the task.

The crowd in the stands at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence might as well have been at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. There were more Husker fans there than Jayhawk fans and Kansas is counting the days until their beloved KU basketball team hits the court.

Next up for the Huskers, the Kansas State Wildcats. Previews, chats, and more all this week on MissingNebraska.com.
