NIPPING AT THE HEELS OF THE HURRICANES.
Nebraska moves up to #2 in USA Today/ESPN and AP Polls, likely to be #1 in BCS Poll released Monday.

The Huskers are movin’ on up, nipping at the heels of the Miami Hurricanes in the AP and USA Today/ESPN college football polls released today. Nebraska’s 20-10 victory over Oklahoma Saturday was not enough to push the Huskers to number 1, but they are inching closer to Miami, a 45-3 winner over West Virginia last Thursday night. The Bowl Coalition Poll (BCS) will be released Monday, and the Huskers are expected to be sitting at the top of that one. So, the Huskers control their own destiny, and it looks like Nebraska and Oklahoma are on a fast track to play each other again in the Big 12 Championship on December 1st in Dallas.

Because a number of top teams lost on Saturday, including UCLA and Virginia Tech, Oklahoma didn’t drop too far. As a matter of fact, the Sooners are nipping at the heels of the Huskers, falling only to number 3 in the AP Poll and number 4 in the USA Today/ESPN polls. Florida is moving back up into the national championship picture as well, climbing to number 3 in the USA Today/ESPN poll, and number 4 in the AP Poll. Big 12 representative Texas is number 5 in both polls.
