ALL EYES ON AGGIES
Huskers hope to bounce back from loss vs. high-flying Texas A&M

Rebound or repeat?

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1, 1-1) are back home Saturday against Texas A&M and hope to rebound from a tough road loss to Missouri last week.

Texas A&M (3-3, 1-1) hopes to repeat last week’s offensive performance, in which the Aggies racked up 73 points against Baylor.

The answer to what happens this Saturday in Lincoln more than likely will lie somewhere in between.

Kickoff between the Huskers and Aggies will be at 11:40 a.m. CDT and you can watch it live on Fox Sports Net. Live audio is available on the Huskers’ official web site and on Pinnacle Sports radio stations across Nebraska and a few cities across America.

Just how the Huskers react to the rain-soaked, fumble-laden loss to Missouri last week is yet to be determined. Throw in NU’s Kellon Huston caught on video tape punching a Missouri fan’s lights out after the game, and the Husker fan curiosity factor on how the team will react to a loss rises to new heights.

Can Nebraska bounce back, or will it get bounced right out of the Big 12 title race?

If Nebraska can hold onto the ball, and not try to give away the game as it did vs. Missouri, the Huskers should pick up victory number 6 on Saturday heading into another home game with Iowa State a week later.

If the Husker turnovers and penalties continue, or if the Aggies have a few tricks up their sleeves as the Tigers did last Saturday, it’s anybody’s ball game.

Texas A&M’s 3-3 record is misleading. Two of the losses are to top 25 teams. A 35-19 loss at number 3 Virginia Tech is not anything to be ashamed of, and a loss to nationally-ranked Pitt at home was a setback, but not surprising. The Aggies’ other loss was an uncharacteristic blowout to the hands of arch rival Texas Tech on the road.

But memories of the loss to Texas Tech were erased with the Aggies’ 73-10 thrashing of Baylor last week. That margin of victory not only raised eyebrows in the Big 12, but also raised the status of Texas A&M.

Nebraska’s defense got a major wake-up call last week at Mizzou, giving up 27 unanswered points in the 4th quarter. Since you’re only as good as your last performance in the minds of many Husker fans, the Blackshirts will be anxious to erase a few bad memories of their own.

The score above is my humble prediction
