ON THE HUSKER MENU: OKLAHOMA ST. COWBOYS
Huskers hit the road to Stillwater hoping for a better outcome

The Huskers are streaking into Stillwater for a Saturday game with the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Big Red also has high hopes of erasing another streak. A road losing streak.
The road has been a painful place to be if you’re wearing red as of late. Huskers have suffered painful losses dating back to last year in Boulder and this year in State College and Ames.
But along comes Oklahoma St. A chance for Nebraska to keep slowly working back into the Big 12 picture with a much-needed road victory.
The Huskers and Cowboys kick it off Saturday, October 19 at 11:30 AM Central. The game will be broadcast on cable by Fox Sports Net. Check your local listings / call the game watch location area near you to confirm the game will be on.
Nebraska is (5-2, 1-1) and Oklahoma St. is (2-4, 0-2). The Cowboys are have lost two in a row, but don’t let their 2-4 record fool you.
The Cowboys have impressive wins over Northern Iowa and SMU. In addition, they have lost to some fairly impressive teams. The ‘Pokes lost at Louisiana Tech by 3, lost to UCLA by 14 and lost to Texas by only 17-15. Then, a blowout loss to Kansas St. last weekend, and it leaves opponents and Big 12 watchers scratching their heads.
Which Cowboy team will show up to play in Stillwater against the Huskers? That is a big question.
The Cowboys are led by quarterback Josh Fields, who has been impressive at times throughout the season.
The Huskers have a lot riding on the date with the Cowboys. A victory would set the stage for a nationally televised showdown at Texas A&M, with a legitimate chance of being 7-2 going into the game with Texas in Lincoln. A road win in Stillwater boosts confidence for the Texas A&M game.
A loss will cause the NU athletic department to look into the possibility of playing every single game in Lincoln.
In addition, just when things seemed to be settling down in Lincoln, Husker quarterback Jammal Lord and a Nebraska volleyball player are charged with disturbing the peace. Despite the chance of losing his job against the Cowboys, Husker coach Frank Solich has decided that Lord will start vs. OSU.
Despite all of Nebraska’s troubles this season. game watch parties for the Missouri game on October 12 were reported to be well-attended and a lot of fun if you could find them. This weekend promises to be just as fun. Although this weekend’s game is available without having to pay a fee so many Husker fans may opt to stay at home at watch it in their living rooms.
We’re hoping your neighbors get to hear “Go Big Red” a few times to reassure them that the Huskers are back.
