NEED GRIT AT PITT
Huskers head to Pittsburgh hoping for fewer turnovers in ABC game

Nebraska can be cautiously optimistic about Saturday's game at Pitt against the Panthers.

Optimistic because they have the knowledge that last Saturday's game vs. Southern Miss was lost on turnovers. If NU QB Joe Dailey can eliminate, or at the very least cut down considerably on turnovers, Big Red can surely win the game in Pittsburgh.

Cautious because Nebraska must understand they're going into a hostile "I can't believe Nebraska is here man" crowd at Big East Pittsburgh.

Pitt would like nothing better than to make a statement that despite recent setbacks in Big East athletics with teams leaving the conference for the ACC, they can take care of business against the Big 12 Big Red from Huskerland.

Problem is, that's been happening a lot recently in the Big 12 early goings on. Missouri, Kansas State, and Nebraska are all looking for redemption this week.

It all comes down to turnovers, and whether or not a rowdy Pitt crowd can get to Dailey. I'm sure they realize they have a chance to mess up an already turnover-prone quarterback, so Panther fans' voices will be well rested and ready to explode.

Husker coach Bill Callahan stands by Dailey, and is paying a lot of attention to him in practice to see if he can get him to step to his potential. We can all see flashes of what "could be" if Dailey could ever become dependable and accurate. Nebraska would be 2-0 right now heading into the game if Dailey there hadn't been so many turnovers in the first two games.

Pitt is 1-0 after defeating Ohio 24-3 in its opener last week. The Panthers should have had two games played by now, but the Panthers' opener against South Florida was postponed earlier in the season because of a potential hurricane.

The NU-Pitt game will be broadcast nationally on ABC. Coverage begins at 11:00 a.m. central, kickoff shortly after. In addition, you can hear live audio and see live stats of the game at Huskers.com. Or check out the live broadcast on one of the Pinnacle Sports Network radio affiliates.
