September 12, 2003 LIONS IN HUSKERS' DEN Revenge-minded Nebraska to host Paterno and Penn St. in Lincoln showdown By Jim D. Berryman MissingNebraska.com Editor The Nittany Lions are a long way from Unhappy Valley. Yes things aren't so happy in Happy Valley, PA these days after Penn St. suffered a major defeat at home against Boston College last week. Now the Nittany Lions are in the Husker den for a nationally televised showdown with no. 18 Nebraska. Kickoff is just after 7 p.m. CDT Saturday night. The game will be nationally televised on ABC. Revenge is on the minds of some Husker players and fans, after the Huskers suffered a 40-7 blowout loss in State College, PA last season. Husker fans who attended the game at Beaver Stadium that night were treated poor at best. I know numerous Husker fans from Connecticut and the east coast who were pelted with bottles, cups, and more throughout the game by drunken Penn State fans. Of course we all know that Husker fans have a lot more class than that. Paterno and the Penn St. boys will be treated to a great Big Red experience during their stay in Lincoln I'm sure. Despite Penn State's recent trouble at home, I expect a close game that will go down to the wire. Should be a great scene as two of the best college football programs in the nation go head to head in Lincoln Saturday night. It's time to send the Nittany Lions back to Unhappy Valley with a Big Red headache. GO BIG RED! BEAT PENN STATE!
