ON THE HUSKER MENU: THE SUN DEVILS
Arizona St. comes to Lincoln for BCA Classic showdown with Nebraska

An explanation is needed as to where to time went since we all gathered in our Husker red together.

Whew! It’s time to hunker down for another Husker season of thrills and chills.

Never mind the fact that the Huskers suffered two high-profile losses to close the season. We’re here and we’re back for more.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have bid farewell to Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Eric Crouch. Stepping up for the Huskers will be Jammal Lord. He hasn’t had a lot to say leading up to the season opener. You get the sense he’s thinking about what’s to come on Saturday night.

So are we.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will host the Arizona State Sun Devils this Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for about 6:45 p.m. Central. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN.

The Huskers have been up and down in practice and scrimmages to this point. The defense seems to be coming along nicely. However tougher opponents loom.

The offense has struggled. However they’ve been playing against a tenacious Blackshirt defense with a new quarterback. It always takes awhile for things to start to gel.

One thing is for sure. The Huskers are hungry for a win and so are the millions of Nebraska fans that gather in front of televisions worldwide.

Nebraska will receive a handsome $2 million dollars for playing the BCS Classic. Nebraska coach Frank Solich says the game will also be a positive experience for the inexperienced Cornhuskers. It’s a chance to play in a “big game” from the get-go.

The Huskers feature 11 new starters on their roster this season. But they have one thing going for them that many forget about.

They’re Nebraska.

A sellout crowd will watch the nationally televised game.

We’re ready.
