RED-WHITE AND NU
Fans anxious to see the new Huskers at Red-White scrimmage.

You probably thought about it a few times since that night. You know the night. The one with roses and red and Hurricanes all over?
A painful night for Husker fans across the country. That, on the heels of a spanking by the much-hated Colorado Buffaloes. Throw in a rip-roarin’ BCS controversy and many Husker fans were turning to the medicine cabinet for a little plop-plop-fizz-fizz.
But that was last season.
This is now.
Huskers kick off the annual Spring Football Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday, April 20 at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is 12:30 central. A big crowd is expected, however the weather could put a damper on attendance. Clouds, wind and afternoon rain is possible with a high only in the upper 40s. Not exactly springy.
But the time has come to see what we have been hearing about for a few weeks now. MissingNebraska.com was there for the first day of the Husker spring practice in late March. Huskers were just basically warming up and posing for photos on that day. No pads, no plan, just loosening up.
But since that day, reports have said that the Husker offense has struggled as of late against an overpowering defense. Husker #1 QB Jammal Lord has impressed Coach Frank Solich, and we’ve heard a lot about Curt Dukes, the boy wonder from North Carolina, who opted out of the last half of his senior year in high school to come play with the big boys in Lincoln.
The game is open to the public, and if you happen to be going, or reading this in Nebraska, click here for complete details.
On a broadcasting related note, Jim Rose will call his inaugural Husker action on the Pinnacle Sports Radio Network. Look for a link to the internet broadcast Saturday on MissingNebraska.com.
Go Big Red. And oh yea, Go Big White.
