Berryman The View From Here Amazing what an announcement from a TV network will do to a Husker football fan, even in the first few days of April. ABC announced that the Nebraska-Penn State showdown on September 14 in Happy Valley will move to 8 p.m. eastern and be televised nationally. Darn it if my heart didn’t skip a beat when I heard the news. It is time to start thinking Husker football again. The spring gives us a chance to get excited for the upcoming Husker season before we set off on family vacations and summer life in general. But, after summer fun comes the fall. Husker season. Fire up those bar-b-qs Husker fans. It will be great to see Nebraska and Penn St. on national TV in just the seventh night game ever at Beaver Stadium. Paterno and Solich. Wild, frenzied Penn St. fans and throngs of people wearing red. It’s going to be great. Such history and tradition at both schools. I doesn’t matter that Nebraska lost its final two games of last season and could very well not even be a top 10 team going into Happy Valley. Forget about the fact that the Nittany Lions have struggled as of late. A similar meltdown to the Huskers would have some Husker fans up in arms and up in smoke. But none of that matters. It's Nebraska. It's Penn State. It's college football at its best. Before we set off for Happy Valley, anyone for making sure we measure the Penn State field and take photos to verify there is no extra in-bounds yardage in a particular end zone? I plan to go one way or another. Either through the Connecticut Yankees for Nebraska or through my stepsister’s mother in Baltimore who is heading there with a friend. Or on my own with other friends. Can’t decide, but somehow I plan to be there. Even though Baltimore Rosemary tells me that the closest hotel to the stadium available now is 40 miles away.
