It’s official. Finally. Again. The Nebraska football team will be very busy this fall. And fall will start early for the Cornhuskers, adding Arizona State to the schedule in a home game on August 24. It is the 13th game of the season, up from 11. McNeese State was number 12.
Many fans are not quite sure what to make of the 13th game added. We all know that in college football, the more games you play, the better chance you have of losing one. If you don’t play, you can’t lose. Well, most times any way.
At the same time, many fans are looking forward to another having another couple home games. I’m sure hotel and restaurant owners in Lincoln are smiling really big. Despite the McNeese State game not being much of a match-up, and sure to invite national criticism, Arizona State and Nebraska have a nice history of interesting games. It could be a scorcher in late August, but I’m sure the Sun Devils will be pretty used to it. Unless of course that sometimes-stifling Nebraska humidity gets to them.
Start making those plans now! Even though we’re just coming up on spring, football season is getting closer every day.
