National championship under his belt, Pelini is now officially a Husker

After weeks of tending to two major jobs, Bo Pelini can relax a bit over the next few days, because now he only has one.

Yes, Bo Pelini is officially a Husker.

He's officially head coach of one of the most storied football programs in the history of college football: The Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Welcome, Bo.

As defensive coordinator for LSU in Monday night's national championship game (Jan. 7) vs. Ohio State, it was a motivating speech after a quick Buckeye touchdown in the opening minutes that calmed the nerves of his Tiger defense, and guided them to getting down to business.

And boy did they.

LSU thumped Ohio State 38-24, in what turned out to be the Buckeyes' 2nd straight lopsided loss in the a national championship game.

Now, Pelini is off to Lincoln to begin the next chapter of his life as Husker head football coach.

There's a lot of work to do to turn things around at NU.

But one can only imagine what was going through his head as he celebrated a convincing victory, with the eyes of the nation upon him and the rest of his team, and positive reviews from the pundits the next day.

Bittersweet, I'm sure, to say good-bye to friends, players and staff in Louisiana.

But sweet indeed that he's heading north to Lincoln for his very own gig.

Must have been great.

Now it's off to work. We'll see you in the Spring, Coach.
